Music of the Abstract: The Gift by The Velvet Underground

Spoken word in music is something I've little knowledge of, but the following is an exceptionally good one to start with. Based on a story written by the late Lou Reed in his college days, it's also the backing music itself that makes this work as perfectly as it does, particularly when you hear the music through one speaker and the story through the other. Worthy of mention is that there is a 1997 short film by Michael Egan on IMDB, a film that I'd gladly see out of curiosity.
